Mom's Prawn Curry

This is a  simple prawn curry which my mom used to make, yet it taste delicious.If i have to say something is favourite food for my dad, prawns has to be first in the list. My favourite too. I still remember those lazy weekends when my mom used to prepare parathas and this curry for breakfast, i just  sit and enjoy those delicious breakfast. So i'm sending my dad's favourite curry prepared in my mom's style to Jay's I Love My Dad Event
Serves 3 to 4
Ingredients:
Prawns- 500 g
Onion- 1 medium sized finely chopped
Tomato- 1 medium sized finely chopped
Garlic-3 pods finely chopped
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Green chilli-2
Coconut milk-1/2 cup
Salt as required
Oil-1 tbsp
Seasoning:
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 stalk
Method:
Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add the mustard seeds when they start spluttering, add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
Add the finely chopped onions and fry it till they become translucent, now add tomatoes, stir well. Keep the flame in medium, cover the pan and cook till the tomatoes are soft. Add the masala powders and stir well. Now add the prawns and stir  well till the gravy gets coated in the prawns. Add 1/2 cup of coconut milk along with 1/2 cup of water, green chilli and salt. Cover the pan and cook till prawn is cooked and oil floats on top. Switch off the flame.
Serve the curry warm with rice, chapathi or even idli's and idiyappam.
